Discover “artistic photography.” These are photographs of people, places and things from around the world. When skillfully taken and creatively captured, using the applicable details of visual literacy (composition of line, curve, shape, depth, movement, etc.), they invigorate our senses or tell us delightful stories of moments in time, as they are windows to timeless moments.
I got a call one day from a woman with a Dutch accent. She asked if I was sitting down, then told me she was my half sister, Carla. I was born in Indonesia, and when my family was forced to leave that country I know my parents considered moving to Australia. Now I had the best reason to go, as Carla lived in Sydney. I drove the entire east coast from Tasmania to north of Cairns.
Austria, the land of Mozart as it can best be compared on a visual scale. I’ve had the opportunity to visit there several times. Everywhere you go it is beautifully picturesque.
The photographs are from in and around Fortaleza, Brazil, south of the Amazon River. My favorite aspect was photographing the Jangada’s fishing boats going out in the surf.
Cartagena, located on the north coast of Colombia on the shores of the Caribbean Ocean, and a home port for some swashbuckling pirates.
Put aside any thoughts of the Cartel in Medellin, those days are over, although my guide was a bit nervous as I photographed downtown. This City is the second largest in Colombia.
Politics had been airing possibilities of Cuba’s new direction to being a more open society for its people. This country had been in a time warp for over sixty years.
People always express a curiosity about Iceland. I’ve been fortunate to visit this peaceful, exceptionally pure Island several times. It has a dynamic landscape!
My trip to Japan included spending some time in Tokyo and taking a bullet train to the Sendai region, where I had the opportunity to stay in a traditional Japanese Inn.
Living on Martha’s Vineyard for nearly seventeen years I was often called by outsiders on where was there a good place to take photographs. I’d reply, “turn around…”
